Bopomo for learners
Type zhuyin.
See what it means.
Zhuyin keyboards assume you already recognise the characters. If you could, you would not be learning. Bopomo puts the meaning of every candidate right above it, so you choose by what the word means.

The meaning, before you choose
Every candidate carries its meaning above the characters. You pick by what the word means, which is the thing you already know.
Tones are optional
Type the sounds you are sure of. Adding a tone narrows the list and a wrong one rules a candidate out, but nothing makes you guess to get started.
Common words first
Ranked by Taiwan's own levelled vocabulary list and by how often words actually appear, so everyday language leads and obscure place names do not.
It never asks for Full Access
That permission is what lets a keyboard read everything you type. Bopomo does not need it: the dictionary ships inside the keyboard, so there is no network and nothing to send anywhere.
The sound printed on every key
Each zhuyin symbol carries its pinyin underneath, so you can find ㄑ without reciting the whole sequence. Turn it off once you no longer need it.
Nine languages
The keyboard speaks English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Japanese, Burmese and Khmer, the languages people actually learn Mandarin in.
